A Maritime Wedding
Imagine having the privilege of travelling by boat from your wedding to your reception. Well that’s what Karen and Richard did. For both of them being at sea is on their blood. It was a weather dependent plan (as many of the most original and fantastic wedding plans often are), but it paid off!
Karen’s family own the main boatyard in Polruan, Cornwall. They also own many of the passenger ferries which run between Polruan and Fowey so they were in the perfect position to be able to carry out this ‘wedding with a difference’!
It was a short drive to Lanteglos Church, St Wyllow, tucked away in the valley overlooking Fowey River. The mist hovering overhead.
After the church service we all headed down to the river where the boats were waiting. Once everyone was assembled and on board, we motored in convoy to Polruan to start the party.
There are many more photos of this fabulous wedding in the customer albums. To see them follow this link and enter the wedding date in a six digit format (ddmmyy).
Wishing Karen and Richard all the very best for their married life.
Thanks for looking! Sarah and Bear Falugo of Green Photographic.

A Bedruthan Steps Wedding
Rebeca and Tom met whilst trekking in Brazil. Tom is from Cornwall, and Rebeca who is Brazilian decided to marry by the sea at one of our favourite beaches, Mawgan Porth near Newquay. Both Tom and Rebeca got ready at Bedruthan Steps Hotel , where they also had their reception. The hotel bedrooms have some funky details and tonnes of natural light pouring in through those big windows – making it perfect for the bridal preparation photography. The weather on the morning of the wedding was terrible to say the least – not exactly what a bride wishes for on her wedding day. From a photography point of view its actually very atmospheric. We were however, all very grateful when the skies cleared in the late afternoon just as we headed to the beach for our photo shoot. Tom was getting ready in another room further down the corridor. He rang her while she was getting ready, I love the look on her face while she’s chatting to her man – it says it all!
Rebeca, her mum and mother-in-law to be headed off in a lovely VW Beetle from Cornwall VW Wedding Hire . The ceremony was held in Truro at the registry office. Rebeca entered the room to a Bob Marley track – to me that summed up the relaxed character of this couple and their wedding.
This photo shoot was one of my favourites of the season. The bride and groom were relaxed and clearly just enjoying being with each other and having a good time. We had the immediate family join us on the beach for the first fifteen minutes so that we could take some groups shots before they went to the hotel for welcome drinks. We then stayed on the beach for about another half an hour. During the photo shoot we always try to allow some time for the bride and groom to be alone – ok so we may be there but we keep a distance for a while and ask them to take a walk so that they can at least have a few private words on their wedding day. If time allows we leave them at the beach and go ahead to join the guests.
After our time on the beach all our bellies were rumbling. We headed back to the hotel for a quick drink and then a truly delicious buffet meal served by the staff at Bedruthan Steps Hotel . After our meal we set up the vintage photo booth and spent the next few hours photographing a seriously good party! Not all weddings are so fun – but on this occasion everyone was letting their hair down and those Brazilians were really showing the locals how to dance!
To see the rest of the photographs follow this link and enter the date of the wedding in a six digit format – e.g. ddmmyy. Bear and I would like to take this opportunity to wish Rebeca and Tom all the very best for their future together.
Wish thanks to all those suppliers who contributed to their wedding:
