A Beachside Wedding in Rock, Cornwall
Being a wedding photographer in Cornwall is at its best when shooting a venue by the sea. Laura and Rob were married at St Enodoc Church in Trebetherick, near Rock. This small church nestled into a golf course in the sand dunes off the River Camel (opposite Padstow), was once covered in sand with only the wonky steeple showing.
See this from Wikipedia “from the 16th century to the middle of the 19th century, the church was virtually buried by the dunes and was known locally as “Sinking Neddy” or “Sinkininny Church”. To maintain the tithes required by the church, it had to host services at least once a year, so the vicar and parishioners descended into the sanctuary through a hole in the roof. By 1864 it was finally unearthed and the dunes were finally stabilized”.
Laura and Rob were lucky to have Laura’s parents’ garden as their wedding venue just a stones throw from both the church and nearby Daymer Bay. We spent the day with Rob and Laura and their nearest and dearest and darted out between rain showers for some photos. The speeches were hilarious and the catering absolutely first class – thanks for hosting us we had a great time and it was a pleasure to photograph your wedding!
And by the way … have you ever seen a wedding dress with pockets?!? What a great idea!

Carly and Stephen’s Wedding in Stormy Cornwall
We love doing wedding photography when Cornwall is looking stormy and atmospheric – alright it may not be what the bride and groom are wishing for but actually for a photographer its great! The clouds are so atmospheric and its much more flattering for portraits than harsh sunlight which creates shadows and shows every single wrinkle …. how’s that for a possible spin on Cornwall’s weather!!
Carly and Stephen chose Polhawn Fort as the venue for their seaside wedding – with its own private beach and exclusive hire options it makes for a very relaxed and unique wedding venue. The clouds hung over the English Channel throughout the entire day and threatened rain – but I’m glad to say they didn’t actually deliver! Instead they just provided a great backdrop and then the sun peeked through just in time for our beach photos to add a little more spark to the photos – thank you weather!

Vicki and Pietro at The Scarlet Hotel
Well – what can I say about Vicki and Pietro’s wedding … it really was such a beautiful and intimate day. They took so much time to plan and prepare a really bespoke event – all the details were so carefully thought out and that Jenny Packham dress is so elegant. The venue was the fabulous Scarlet Hotel in Mawgan Porth on Cornwall’s north coast – near Newquay. Vicki and Pietro invited their nearest and dearest to spend the weekend with them in the luxury eco-hotel.
Michelle from Pocketful of Dreams was on hand – she helped plan and co-ordinate the event. She will be featuring some of the images in the near future to write a behind the scenes post about the day on her blog Pocketful of Dreams .
Pietro and Vicki call each other “Pie and Mash” – this was referenced several times throughout the day – just check out Vicki’s bespoke coat hanger for her dress! I’m a big fan of the stationary with custom made logo by
Sugalily
and the gorgeous laser cut place settings by

A Military Wedding in a Fort
Polhawn Fort is nestled into the cliffs of in South East Cornwall. This unique wedding venue is perfectly suited to the theme of this military wedding and the weather was perfect! While I was at the fort with Natalie and her family and bridesmaids, Adj joined the others in the picturesque fishing village of Kingsand just a few miles away for a pint or three by the sea.
The wedding ceremony took place inside the fort. Plenty of candles alongside the rounded red brick ceilings provided plenty of atmosphere.
Immediately after the ceremony Alister and Natalie disappeared to spend five minutes alone while the guests headed outside for welcome drinks and the sword party assembled. The newlyweds then made their entrance to the reception by walking along the lawn with the ocean in the background.
Polhawn Fort has its own private beach – perfect for a short photo shoot. We headed down there for half an hour to get some shots of the bride and groom, and of course for the obligatory dip in the English Channel!

Thanks for looking, Sarah and Adj of Green Photographic .

Alex and Jeff’s Polhawn Fort Wedding
We regularly photograph at Polhawn Fort . This time it was a short but sweet photo shoot for Alex and Jeff’s wedding. They got lucky with a sunny September day and had the pleasure of getting married outdoors, next to the sea. This is a truly breathtaking venue for a civil ceremony. I love the walk up the “aisle” with the ocean behind. After a few drinks and some family photos we headed off to Rame Head for a photo shoot. This is a perfect time for the bride and groom to spend some time with each other on their wedding day and also to obtain some more peaceful photographs of the couple together.

I’d like to wish Alex and Jeff all the best for the future!
Thanks for looking, Sarah from Green Photographic.
