A Beachside Wedding in Rock, Cornwall
Being a wedding photographer in Cornwall is at its best when shooting a venue by the sea. Laura and Rob were married at St Enodoc Church in Trebetherick, near Rock. This small church nestled into a golf course in the sand dunes off the River Camel (opposite Padstow), was once covered in sand with only the wonky steeple showing.
See this from Wikipedia “from the 16th century to the middle of the 19th century, the church was virtually buried by the dunes and was known locally as “Sinking Neddy” or “Sinkininny Church”. To maintain the tithes required by the church, it had to host services at least once a year, so the vicar and parishioners descended into the sanctuary through a hole in the roof. By 1864 it was finally unearthed and the dunes were finally stabilized”.
Laura and Rob were lucky to have Laura’s parents’ garden as their wedding venue just a stones throw from both the church and nearby Daymer Bay. We spent the day with Rob and Laura and their nearest and dearest and darted out between rain showers for some photos. The speeches were hilarious and the catering absolutely first class – thanks for hosting us we had a great time and it was a pleasure to photograph your wedding!
And by the way … have you ever seen a wedding dress with pockets?!? What a great idea!

Suzy and Ollie – A Taster
Keep an eye out for this wedding in Cornwall featuring on our blog soon. Suzy and Ollie were married on May bank holiday weekend in Saltash, near Plymouth. Suzy designed her own wedding dress – it was a total pleasure to do their wedding photography!
A Military Wedding in a Fort
Polhawn Fort is nestled into the cliffs of in South East Cornwall. This unique wedding venue is perfectly suited to the theme of this military wedding and the weather was perfect! While I was at the fort with Natalie and her family and bridesmaids, Adj joined the others in the picturesque fishing village of Kingsand just a few miles away for a pint or three by the sea.
The wedding ceremony took place inside the fort. Plenty of candles alongside the rounded red brick ceilings provided plenty of atmosphere.
Immediately after the ceremony Alister and Natalie disappeared to spend five minutes alone while the guests headed outside for welcome drinks and the sword party assembled. The newlyweds then made their entrance to the reception by walking along the lawn with the ocean in the background.
Polhawn Fort has its own private beach – perfect for a short photo shoot. We headed down there for half an hour to get some shots of the bride and groom, and of course for the obligatory dip in the English Channel!

Thanks for looking, Sarah and Adj of Green Photographic .

Woodland Wedding Shoot
Natalia and Patrick got married in London this summer. The schedule on the actual wedding day didn’t allow much time for us to do a photo shoot so they travelled to Cornwall for a ‘rock the dress’ session. We spent a few hours in Cardinham Woods near Bodmin. The weather was pretty grotty but we managed to seek shelter under the trees and then grabbed a nice cup of tea in Woods Cafe when the rain got too heavy.
To see the full selection follow this link and enter the date of their wedding in six digit format (ddmmyy). Thanks for looking, Sarah Falugo of Green Photographic .
