Baby Barnaby – Two Weeks Old
Barnaby, his parents and brother (the dog Mojo!), live in Cornwall. It was my great pleasure to photograph the family in their own home. In between feeds and nappy changes we took a variety of photographs, some with the portable studio, some in Barnaby’s nursery and some just in Kate and Ozzie’s bedroom (my favourites!).
I photographed Kate on the beach when she was heavily pregnant with Barnaby so it was lovely to visit again so soon after his birth and see the transition. We are planning several photo shoots in his first year – we’ll make a model of this boy yet!

A Newquay Wedding
Sarah and Gareth were married in the Glendorgal Hotel on the outskirts of Newquay, Cornwall. The ceremony was lovely and the photo shoot that followed was fun and relaxed – although very windy!
Congratulations once again to Sarah and Gareth and a special thanks to the Glendorgal Hotel and all their staff for making it such a relaxed afternoon!

A Langdon Court Wedding
Langdon Court in South Devon is a great location for a wedding – its SO close to the beach and Wembury Church which is practically perched on the cliff – the views are fab!
Ebony and Edwin were joined by family and friends for a relaxed celebration at the church and a day of lawn games and cocktails. The ice-cream bike waiting for us as we came out of the church was such a good idea – especially since it was a hot day (no honestly it was – even though the rest of June has been shockingly wet!).
After having our fill of ice-cream from the lovely Daisy’s Farmhouse , Ebony and Edwin and I headed off to the beach for a few photos. Having a little time with the bride and groom on their wedding day not only allows us to get some special photographs but also acts as a perfect excuse for the newlyweds to have some time together. We like to make a point of leaving them at the beach (or equivalent), after we have enough photos and running on ahead so that they can have some privacy before heading back to all their friends and family.
Back at Langdon Court everyone was having a lovely time sipping drinks and playing games in the sun. Background music provided by Angela Wunnam () .
After sampling some gorgeous food we moved outside for the speeches – it was such a lovely warm evening.
And to finish off we all had some fun with the vintage photo booth!

Congratulations once again Ebony and Edwin. We wish you all the very best for your future.

A Big Wedding Bash at Polhawn Fort
Polhawn Fort is an incredibly versatile wedding venue. The fort is perched on the side of the cliff in Cornwall’s “Forgotten Corner” – The Rame Peninsula and can be hired out for exclusive use for weddings. We photograph at the fort on a regular basis – sometimes the guest list is as small as twenty people and other times its used for a large wedding – such as in the case of Leah and Glen’s wedding.
Leah and Glen are a fun and sociable couple – from start to finish everybody was in the mood to celebrate.
I joined Leah and her many bridesmaids in one of the bedrooms for some drinks and preparation photographs before heading through to the main reception room for an intimate and lighthearted ceremony.
Leah’s dress, shoes and flowers had a subtle vintage feel. Dress by Benjamin Roberts (Enzoani – Diana). The flowers are by Ruth Andrews who provides flowers for most of the weddings at Polhawn Fort. Shoes by Kurt Geiger.
Polhawn Fort is licensed for civil ceremonies with both outdoor and indoor ceremony options. Although the sun was shining, Leah and Glen opted to get married indoors as even in the height of summer, it is so atmospheric inside. And just look at how proud Leah’s father looks!
The weather was perfect for drinks and photos on the lawn and I’ve never seen so much confetti!
During the afternoon I snuck off with Leah, Glen, Adj of Memories on Film and one of the best men for a walk on the beach. Leah had bought some wellies especially for our photo shoot but then forgot them so Tom’s trainers had to make do. The walk down the cliff was pretty long and the walk back up even longer – but worth it.
Back at the fort we were treated to a fabulous candle lit meal provided by Green Fare Caterers in the main room (which also doubled up as the ceremony room). Not to mention the most drunken and controversial ‘two best men’ speech I’ve ever witnessed!
My favourite thing about summer weddings is that after the meal we can go back outdoors again and often catch a sunset. I always enjoy casually moving around the crowds and finding great photos of people having a good time – I don’t have to interrupt them and I still get the shots to describe the day. This little black board is an ideal prop which allows the bride and groom to make some cute ‘thank you’ cards.
As the sun went down I set up the vintage photo booth inside and started snapping away as all the guests tried out the silly props – I’ve found that this always works better in the evenings after the guests have had a shandy or FIVE!
I had to head home soon after the first dance but I’m sure the partying continued through into the wee small hours out on that headland somewhere in a ‘forgotten corner’ of Cornwall!

I’d like to take the opportunity to wish Leah and Glen the very, very best for a long and happy marriage with as much fun and laughter as they had on their big day!

A Polhawn Fort Wedding
We’ve become regular photographers at Polhawn Fort in South East Cornwall. This was the first time however that I’ve photographed the bridal preparation off site. And its always a pleasure to photograph a classic beauty like Anna.
Anna and the girls had been staying in Kingsand, a few miles from the wedding venue. They spent a casual morning eating toast, drinking champers and being pampered by Bells Brides before heading off to the ceremony in a stylish VW campervan ( www.vwlovebus.com ). This classic vintage look dress is a Pronovias (Menora), bought from Silhouettes in Richmond (along with Veil). Shoes by Emmy in London.
By the afternoon the rain had really set in but we still managed to persuade a few people to head onto the lawns for a few photos. The bridesmaids are wearing Dessy, purchased from The White Room in Southwelll, Notts.
Anna, Paul and I ventured out in the rain for our photo shoot – the weather was pretty foul to say the least. I am always up for photographing in the rain with umbrellas as the shots can be fun and very atmospheric – luckily I was in the company of an adventurous couple who are just about to head off around the world so a little bit of rain didn’t put them off! We were however, all glad for the hired campervan which served as a perfect (and dry!), venue for more photos once we’d had enough of the rain.
We arrived back in time for a lovely meal provided by
The English Table
and some very entertaining and heartfelt speeches in the ever cosy atmosphere of
Polhawn Fort
. We were blessed with a little respite from the rain in the evening which gave us a chance to spend some time on the lawn before we headed home. The party was in full swing led by DJ Geoff Gibson (also an Usher on the day!).

. We’d like to wish Anna and Paul all the very best for a long and happy marriage. We really enjoyed spending the day with such a warm and welcoming group of people (and REALLY enjoyed that bottle of Oyster Bay – thanks Colin!!!).
