St Enodoc Church Wedding in Rock – Cornwall
As featured on Love My Dress – Being a wedding photographer in Cornwall is best when shooting a venue by the sea. Laura and Rob were married at St Enodoc Church in Trebetherick, near Rock. This small church nestled into a golf course in the sand dunes off the River Camel (opposite Padstow), was once covered in sand with only the wonky steeple showing.
See this from Wikipedia “from the 16th century to the middle of the 19th century, the church was virtually buried by the dunes and was known locally as “Sinking Neddy” or “Sinkininny Church”. To maintain the tithes required by the church, it had to host services at least once a year, so the vicar and parishioners descended into the sanctuary through a hole in the roof. By 1864 it was finally unearthed and the dunes were finally stabilized”.
Laura and Rob were lucky to have Laura’s parents’ garden as their wedding venue just a stones throw from both the church and nearby Daymer Bay. Rob started the day having lunch and a few drinks at St Moritz Hotel while Laura and the girls got ready at home. We spent the day with Rob and Laura and their nearest and dearest and darted out between rain showers for some photos. The speeches were hilarious and the catering absolutely first class – thanks for hosting us we had a great time and it was a pleasure to photograph your wedding!
And by the way … have you ever seen a wedding dress with pockets?!? What a great idea!
