I loved the light on this week-day wedding at Polhawn Fort in South East Cornwall. All the colours seemed to compliment each other so well and Liz’s dress looked great on the beach with the silver shimmer in the rocks and sea. As a wedding photographer in Cornwall, I visit this venue a lot. It amazes me how the weather can change the look of the place so dramatically and often be totally different conditions to Plymouth just around the other side of the Rame Peninsula. On this particular day we had no wind – it was cold but still and considering the weather we’ve been having lately we were lucky it didn’t snow!
Simon and Liz travelled to Cornwall especially for this unique wedding location. How lovely to have a wedding by the sea with a private beach – oh and the reception in an old Fort (which has a peaceful history by the way). Whitsand Bay is my old stomping ground. I spent my childhood living in one of the wooden chalets on the cliff here, so it’s always nice to return to my old playground
It was such a touching moment when Liz stopped half way down the aisle to say hello to Simon’s grandfather – I’m not sure if it was planned but it was a lovely moment.
The photo booth was a lot of fun and I was so pleased when a big funk band turned up to play – they got everyone dancing straight away … always a good investment! To see the full gallery FOLLOW THIS LINK and enter Simon’s last name (all lower case).
