Well it may only be March but the weather for this wedding by the sea in Cornwall was fantastic. We are regular photographers at Polhawn Fort , near Plymouth. It is such a unique venue for civil ceremony. The fort is available for private hire and hosts two weddings every week. Debbie and Steve hired the fort for a mid-week wedding, meaning they and their guests had full access to the venue for several days and were able to enjoy the private beach, lawns over-looking the sea and atmospheric interior. This wedding was featured on the popular wedding blog Pasties And Petticoats

{the proposal}
Steve proposed to me when we went on holiday to Turkey. He found a little secluded beach on the peninsula and got down on one knee right by the sea. It was very unexpected but very perfect and intimate.
{the venue}
We got married at Polhawn Fort and this was the first venue we looked at. We went to view it and we didn’t look anywhere else. We were blown away by the views of the sea and it seemed fitting that as we got engaged by the sea we should get married by the sea.
{what they wore}
My dress was a Lusan Mandongus dress and I wanted a very simple but elegant style. My bridesmaids wore very elegant full length dresses in Turqouise green and fitted in quite well with our seaside theme wedding. Steve and the best men wore charcoal grey suits with silver cravats from Moss Bros.The little page boys looked adorable in their little suits too.
{the theme}
Our venue choice made it easy to decide on our theme. As it is an old Fort situated on a cliffside we went for a seaside theme. Our table names were the names of local beaches, our centrepieces were large fish bowls filled with sand, a large pillar candle and little shells scattered around. We even made a shell table planner too.
