With soft tones and rolling waves, this early morning beach wedding shoot should give you a few ideas for a contemporary coastal wedding. A few times a year I like to go crazy on my Pinterest boards and get my creative cap on for some wedding styling … it’s always way more work than I plan for but I love doing it and it keeps me moving forward with my passion for all things fine art, wedding and coastal.
This shoot took place last July on a calm summer’s morning, there were five of us on the beach by 7am with coffees in hand and a light and empty surf rolling in on Crantock Beach. The concept behind the shoot was to offer up a fresh and stripped back alternative to beach wedding styling. I photograph a lot of weddings in Devon and Cornwall with a seaside influence and wanted to inspire brides about how to plan a wedding which nods to coastal influences in a more contemporary way.
The dresses are all high-street designs: Mango, Warehouse and Aqua. The hair and make-up was provided by the lovely Amy Skinner of Amy Beauty and our model was the beautiful Jasmine. Modern jewellery touches were provided by Korp Jewellery of London, the stationery is from Lovely Paper Things based in California and the breath-taking florals by Susanne of The Blue Carrot , based on the Roseland Peninsula.
